Upen Varanasi - Co-founder & CEO

As Co-Founder and CEO, Upen Varanasi is responsible for setting the overall strategy and vision for Riversand. Being one of the founders of the company and an early innovator in the area, Mr. Varanasi brings extensive experience in the areas of PIM, PLM and Content Management.

Prior to Riversand, he worked with enterprise software companies such as Trilogy Software and EDS-PLM across industry verticals such as Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing and Oil & Gas.

Mr. Varanasi holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Chennai and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri.


Anil Kini - Co-founder & CTO

Anil is responsible for the implementation of Riversand’s technology solutions at client organizations and manages the professional services organization.

His expertise is in the area of data management and application of technology to facilitate intelligent data analysis and use. During the course of his career, he has worked with several Fortune 100 companies where he has focused on the development and maintenance of several large-scale data management and inventory and pricing management systems. He has also taught several courses in the application of technology to solve business problems.

Anil holds a Ph.D. in Information and Operations Management from Texas A&M University and has published several articles in the field. The focus of his research has been to investigate the application of information technology to alleviate business problems, with an emphasis on innovation adoption, game theory and human-machine interaction. He also earned a Master' degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from India.


York Richards - Chief Financial Officer

York is responsible for overall financial operations and reporting for Riversand. Mr. Richards joins Riversand’s Executive team with over 15 years of experience in the field of software accounting and finance. Prior to joining Riversand, he served over 10 years as CFO at Idera Inc. where he designed and implemented G&A operations including accounting, finance, tax, human resources, legal, IT, and maintenance renewals. In addition, Mr. Richards was instrumental in raising three rounds of venture funding and negotiating multiple acquisitions. He has also held management positions at BMC Software, PentaSafe Security Technologies/NetIQ, and Price Waterhouse. Mr. Richards holds Master’s Degree in Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University.


Raul Rom - Vice President, Customer Relations

Raul is responsible for overall account management and customer satisfaction at Riversand. He has a background and expertise are in the areas of Supplier On-Boarding and Content Management, as well as in the Management of Information Systems and Global eBusiness' markets. During the course of his career, he has worked for and with several Fortune 100 companies, like IBM, where he has focused on the design, development, management, and maintenance of several large-scale data management and process management systems.

He is also one of the inventors for two US and International Patents for: User Creation and Direction of a Rich-Content Life-Cycle and eCatalog Supplier Portal. Raul holds a Major in Management Information Systems from Technion College of Engineers at Haifa, Israel, and in parallel to his professional career in IBM, he was assigned several times as a diplomat to Israeli Embassies worldwide.


Tom Hathaway - Vice President, Global Sales

In his role leading global revenue functions for Riversand Technologies, Mr. Hathaway will be responsible for delivering revenue growth across Riversand’s operations in North America, Europe and Asia.  In his 15 plus years of experience, Tom has held sales and sales leadership positions at market leading companies like Siebel, ATG, and Oracle.  Tom had several roles at Oracle, but most recently looked after ERP Sales for the Eastern US and Canada focusing in the retail market.  Tom discovered his passion for data early in his career as a Senior Director at JD Power and Associates, where he helped companies use syndicated behavioral data to make informed decisions.  Tom holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a BA in Marketing from the University of Texas Arlington


Visweswara Babu Vallamkonda (Vishy), Vice President, Engineering

Vishy is responsible for driving development efforts at Riversand Technologies and leads the engineering and architecture team. Vishy has over 18+ years of experience in Software Engineering at Product Companies.

Prior to joining Riversand Technologies, he was a Director of Engineering in Identity Security Management at Novell Software and was Director for Central Management Products at Blue Coat Systems. Vishy has successfully led teams through ramping up global teams and cross-team collaboration.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Computer Applications.


Rob MacEwan - Vice President, Oil & Gas Division

Rob MacEwan is the Vice President for Oil & Gas Division at Riversand Technologies. In his current role, Rob is responsible for leading the Content Services Organization.

Rob has over 20 years experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. His specialty is working with the buyer and supplier communities to develop and maintain spare parts information, e-catalogs and content standards. Prior to joining Riversand Rob was Senior Manager, Content Integration for the Trade Ranger marketplace where he participated in developing catalog strategies for their buying organization members. Rob also spent 16 years with Chevron maintaining various positions within Operations and their Global Procurement Organization.


Andrew Simpson - Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Simpson is responsible for alliances and channel partner programs,inbound/outbound marketing, product marketing and strategic positioning, the Valuestream ROI assessment program, analyst relations and Riversand's pre-sales support organization. He has over 18 years of Sales, Marketing and Business Development experience at innovative companies that provide significant value to clients.

Before joining Riversand, Mr. Simpson launched his own company, LeadPort, a performance-based business development company.Prior to LeadPort, Mr. Simpson was a Sales Director at Compete, Inc, an online market research company. In addition, Mr. Simpson was responsible for worldwide Sales at iXmatch, an advanced search technology company. Mr. Simpson was also successful in a variety of roles at Net Perceptions - a leader in personalization solutions - including Sales, Business Development and Product Manager while helping to take the company public. Earlier in his career, he worked in strategic Marketing and Sales roles at IBM, Parametric Technology Corporation and the Open Software Foundation(now the Open Group). Mr. Simpson has a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Harvard University.


Omer Farooque - Vice President, Product Strategy

Omer Farooque has joined Riversand as a Vice President of Product Strategy focusing on the Retail, Manufacturing and Distribution industry verticals. He brings over 16 years of experience from Infosys Limited where he served in a number of leadership roles including managing a data management consulting practice and shaping go to market solutions across several verticals. At Riversand, Omer will help shape the product strategy to meet and anticipate client’s needs.


Raman Parthasarathy - Vice President, Strategy – Products & Business Development

Raman Parthasarathy has joined Riversand as VP Strategy and will be focused on new & emerging industry verticals and markets to deepen Riversand’s focus and product road map to address the specific needs of these verticals and markets. In addition to this, Raman will be responsible for Alliances, Product Marketing and Analyst Relations. He has over 19 years of global IT services and consulting experience and specifically in last 10 years was involved in building a new MDM Consulting group at a Global IT Consulting & Services organization from scratch to ~75 Million USD.


William Tamaloust - Vice President, EMEA

William Tamaloust has over eighteen years experience in growing US technology companies in Europe. Recently Mr. Tamaloust developed digital and ecommerce expertise following his successful expansion of Demandware business in EMEA and China. During his career, Mr. Tamaloust has been the key mover generating the business that lead to two successful IPOs and three profitable sell offs after growing the technology and service companies. Mr. Tamaloust's most recent success was Demandware's IPO in March 2012 with an initial public offering of US$1 billion.

Using his expertise of the new digital economy, Mr. Tamaloust have been working for global apparels and retailers focusing on ecommerce economy. In addition Mr. Tamaloust advises Fortune 500 companies on their ecommerce strategies.

His knowledge and experience in technology and software industry has been mixed with his financial experience in the area of capital fund raising, mergers and acquisition. Mr. Tamaloust served as Chief Investment Strategist and member of the board of Wonderworld Finance.

Currently Mr. Tamaloust is Vice President of EMEA, at RIVERSAND. He is charged with the mission to expand Riversand's overall operation in EMEA. Mr. Tamaloust is focused on creating the ecosystems for Riversand's customers, services and technology partners while developing direct business for Riversand in Europe and Israel.
